Workplace description: My client’s principal activities are producing gold mine and processing exploration operations. It focuses on developing its two projects in Senegal, West Africa with a producing gold mine the development of a mining operation.
Main duties and responsibilities:
My client has an interest in utilising Energy Resourcing’s capability to put together a proposal for a project. They are interested in assessing the viability of engine combined cycle technology for the gold mine power station.
From technical documents acquired from the main Wartsila website my client is given to understand that such technology exists, and that they have the suitable engines, to recover high quality heat from the exhaust gases. This heat is then utilised in a conventional steam boiler\turbine arrangement to produce additional electricity.
My client wishes to utilise Energy Resourcing to achieve an evaluation of this idea. This is essentially a pre-feasabiltiy study to justify the move to a full study and investment decision.
The scope of the evaluation would include:
· Overview of combined cycle technology, with reference to similar brown fields expansion projects ideally with similar equipment (i.e. Wartsila 32 engines, HFO or LFO)
· Proposed layout(s) of combined cycle equipment (i.e. multiple units, physical location on site)
